Case Studies

Sven

Sven

2015 CDT student Sven Jaeschke is working on contact-free motion correction and cardiac gating.

His research project aims to develop new methods for cardiac gating and motion correction using only power reflections of the MR-coils.

Louise

Louise

2014 CDT student Louise Tear is working on the synthesis of new imaging contrast agents.

Her project involves chemical synthesis, as well as cellular work and the use of MRI and, possibly, ultrasound.

Martin

Martin

2014 CDT student Martin Hailstone is working on cell tracking analysis methods and applications.

His project, aimed at understanding the development of the brain at the cellular and molecular level, is highly interdisciplinary, combining traditional biology and microscopy with image analysis and computer vision.

Vaanathi

Vaanathi

2015 CDT student Vaanathi Sundaresan is working on automated analysis of medical images.

Vaanathi’s chosen project focuses on detecting structural anomalies occurring in brain white matter, thus assisting in the diagnosis and management of various neurodegenerative diseases.

Rick

Rick

2016 CDT student Rick Lange seeks to work on hardware and software for biomedical imaging applications.

Rick will be seeking a DPhil project involving the development of hardware and software for biomedical imaging applications.

Emma

Emma

2015 CDT student Emma Doran is based in Nottingham and is working on MRI methods.

Emma has been working on the development of methods for body imaging using high-field MRI scanners. Body MRI at high magnetic field is much more challenging than at conventional lower fields.
